RISE Golf & Hand Cycling Picnic Rescheduled

Weather permitting, we will have our golf and hand cycle picnic on, Saturday, April 11.

One would think someone has offended the golfing gods and Mother Nature judging by the recent weather. Nonetheless, it is important that everyone interested in golf RSVP and participate as much as possible. We have the equipment, i.e., clubs, balls, instruction, etc., so come out when possible and get started. RISE purchased a new Model Tee Disability Golf cart last week but it will be a couple of months before it arrives. Please remember, golf is not just about the clubs and carts…we need to learn some of the basic rules of the game, safety, etiquette on the golf course and care of the golf course. As individuals we represent ourselves and RISE on the golf course and we want to learn how to conduct ourselves in the traditional customs and courtesies expected of golfers. We will learn this in our “driving range” sessions and “on course” training sessions. Only those who have participated in the orientation sessions and those who have participated in the single rider golf cart training sessions, to include care of the course, etiquette and cart safety, will be allowed onto the golf course, by themselves, during our RISE golf events. We don’t want anyone to be kicked off of a golf course or RISE to be kicked off of a golf course for “conduct unbecoming”. So sign up, RSVP, attend as many golf events as possible and soon you will be on your way to golfing independence.
