RISE hand cyclingWe finally got a group of rider to get together in South Fort Worth.  Five RISE Rugby players, some friends, family and Peanut all came out to Pecan Valley Park in Benbrook.   It was a blast, but a little on the hot side.  The temperature was in the upper 90’s but the trail is almost all in the shade.  We planed the event late so there wasn’t any direct sun on us and we all brought our super sprayers from rugby, so we were all wet and cool.  The trail is about a 4 mile loop, but one of the parks is under construction so we had to double back.  It was no big deal though, but I hope that part of the trail opens soon.  The trail is very nice and smooth with some rolling hills and a few bridges that go over the Clear Fork of the Trinity River.  Overall it was a great bike ride and we all had fun.  If you are interested in going contact me and we will plan another ride.   slarimore@riseadventures.org

      Hey Steve,

I cannot put into words how much I enjoyed going cycling yesterday. It was an awesome feeling, and I was bragging to my wife all day about doing 11 miles. (OK, I’m used to 5 in my wheelchair.) I’m counting the days till I get to do it again. I’m so hooked that I have been researching bikes all day. Doesn’t mean I can afford one right now, but a boy can dream!

I do have to sing at church this Sunday, but I’m back for sure in 2 weeks. Also, if you ever go cycling at any other time, please let me know. I want to try to be there any chance I get.

      Thank you again Steve!
