    1. Had a GREAT time bringing kayaking TKF (Texas Kayak Fisherman) style out to the event on Saturday.

We also gave away 5 $50 LOWE’s cards as raffle prizes to anyone that registered at the kayak booth. I have the winners and will be contacting them today!

Just a few plugs for those who made it possible to bring out everything required to keep the plastic navy floating on Saturday:

Heart of Texas Kayaks in Grapevine & Temple Texas provided their rental fleet to us and even deleivered them to the site.

http://www.HeroesontheWater.org , national non profit organization designed to give soldiers & wounded veterans a little R & R as well as physical therapy in many case through the sport of kayak fishing. They provided lifejackets, paddles, as well as many of us that were there also volunteer with H.O.W.

Hey yall! I really enjoyed working the End of Summer Bash 09… It was a blast for anyone who showed up. Plan on seeing you guys around more often, Peace!

    3. I had an awesome time volunteering for the Rise End of Summer Bash. My 9 year old came too and it showed her the Abilities of everyone and the endless possibilities for all. Thanks Paul.

    4. This was a wonderful event. I volunteered at Gary Pickle’s golf station and watching him instruct the youngsters on how to swing a golf club was impressive and seeing the awesome look on their faces was amazing. Good Show! and glad I got to experience this feat. Thank you for being there for them!

    5. My name is Denielle Orona. I was at the end of season Bash in Grapevine, representing the MS Society. Admittedly, I was not familiar with Rise Adventures prior to coming that day. My son and I took a break from the table, and walked around the grounds. I was amazed by the whole event. So was he. It was a fabulous event that I am glad I shared with my son. He is as visual as I and we both took something with us that day.

I have a brother who has been in wheelchair my whole life. In 1999 my family did the MS snowmobile ride in Northern Wisconsin, on my behalf. I have pictures of my brothers strapping Daryl’s legs to the side of the snowmobile. That was normal for my family to strap him on and away they would go. I always knew he could do what ever he wanted, he knew no limits. I may have inherited his spirit and spunk, which will come in handy-having MS myself. I am also not a stranger to adaptations that can be made to everything to accommodate who ever is willing to participate. I just didn’t know that others knew it too and were making it possible for others to enjoy what most people take for granted.

I came home that day, went online and signed up to be a volunteer. Be sure to contact me when you need someone to help with events, my son and I would be honored to help in any way we can.

Thanks so much for all you do!
