RISE Photography, “Autumn at the Arboretum” 10/24/09

Nobody can say that photography is boring! I had a great time exploring this program for the first time at the Dallas Arboretum this past weekend. What can I say…, it was beautiful weather in the 70’s, sunny, clear skies, free admission into a well known tourist attraction where plant life and sculptures have more meaning than beauty, free lunch, fun entertainment from RISE volunteers, and most of all a new friendship with Michelle! I was having way too much fun! The weather was perfect so that meant the place was packed. Parking and getting everyone together was difficult. We had 26 folks show up in four different groups. DARS Fort Worth brought out a group of 6 for their first RISE activity and had a great day! Hope you guys join us for the next one!

I wanted to say thanks for the tickets on Saturday. It was a beautiful day to have that activity, and I hope that it was a success for RISE. I got there about 1 pm, and I asked for you at the front gate. No one had any information, but I did find one lady who had the tickets but no other details. I checked with the different cafes / restaurants on site to see where RISE was meeting for lunch, but no one had any information. I also looked for a table or booth inside the arboretum, but I didn’t find it if it was there. So, I’m sorry I didn’t have the chance to meet you in person…I guess I should have asked for more details last week. As you know, it was really busy out there on Saturday, and I could have overlooked a sign for RISE.
Anyway, thanks again for the tickets.

: Yesterday was truly a lifetime experience for my son as well as our family. I was always afraid for my son to do certain activities especially dealing with water when either of us swim. He loved everything especially the jet ski. Thank you for showing us that there are no limits. we are looking to become a part of a team such as yours. I thank God for wonderful people as yourself.You all are truly a blessing to our family. I will see you in the near future to see whatever else my son can do.
: My son really enjoyed getting to play a couple of holes of golf today at North Texas Golf Center. It was great to see him not only enjoying swinging the golf club (and making contact with the ball!)but also being able to chat with his RISE friends.
: I really had a great time at the water sports at Lake Grapevine, especially riding in the motorboat and getting to help steer the sailboat. But I think my favorite activity was riding on the jet ski, which really surprised my mom who never thought I would ever get on a jet ski!!!
: This was truly the best day of my sons life where it was just enjoying the outdoors. WE experienced things we wanted to do & things we were afraid of & I truly appreciated it. THANKS
: I just wanted to Thank Rick and Annette Brauer for such a wonderful time last Saturday sailing in the open waters. I had such a "GREAT TIME" can't wait till the next time we get to go out. Thank You again!!!!!!
