It’s going to be a fantastic year for the RISE golf program. We’ve had new participants at every golf event this year at the North Texas Golf Center. Besides interest from folks new to RISE and increasing interest from the “regular” RISE constituency; 18 hole regulation golf courses are interested in hosting our program and the RISE in-service programs conducted on-site at the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation have been successful in getting people back to the golf course. We have many quality volunteers, many of whom are therapy students from UNT and TWU. 
Check the calendar carefully. For the present, RISE golf is from 12:00 to 3:00 on Saturday’s but will change during the year. RSVP is required.
Mark your calendar now for September 13th. Adventure Scuba in Plano will be sponsoring a golf tournament to benefit RISE Adventures. I’ll post details as they develop. Contact Gary Pickle at gary@garypickle.com

RISE End of Summer Bash V Smashes Attendance Record!

This year’s attendance more than doubled last years with 918 total persons in attendance; Disabilities 237, Family Members 344, Volunteers 220, and Vendors/Sponsors 117. Thanks to everyone that attended and supported this year’s event. We would like to ask everyone to send us your stories, pictures, and comments about the event. Scuba needs Able Bodied Divers

RISE has teamed with Adventure Scuba and the City of Irving Parks Department to offer this new program. If you are an able bodied diver that would like to volunteer for this exciting program we need you to take the “Adaptive Buddy Scuba Diving Course” at Adventure Scuba. Please help us help others!

: Yesterday was truly a lifetime experience for my son as well as our family. I was always afraid for my son to do certain activities especially dealing with water when either of us swim. He loved everything especially the jet ski. Thank you for showing us that there are no limits. we are looking to become a part of a team such as yours. I thank God for wonderful people as yourself.You all are truly a blessing to our family. I will see you in the near future to see whatever else my son can do.
: My son really enjoyed getting to play a couple of holes of golf today at North Texas Golf Center. It was great to see him not only enjoying swinging the golf club (and making contact with the ball!)but also being able to chat with his RISE friends.
: I really had a great time at the water sports at Lake Grapevine, especially riding in the motorboat and getting to help steer the sailboat. But I think my favorite activity was riding on the jet ski, which really surprised my mom who never thought I would ever get on a jet ski!!!
: This was truly the best day of my sons life where it was just enjoying the outdoors. WE experienced things we wanted to do & things we were afraid of & I truly appreciated it. THANKS
: I just wanted to Thank Rick and Annette Brauer for such a wonderful time last Saturday sailing in the open waters. I had such a "GREAT TIME" can't wait till the next time we get to go out. Thank You again!!!!!!
