RISE is collaborating with Challenge Air to provide FREE 30 minute airplane rides. Any child or youth living with a physical disability or life-threatening illness may pre-register for the program by clicking here. Each disability can also take two friends or family on the flight. Make sure you tell them RISE sent you! Reservations are required online at challengeair.com. Here is a list of qualifying examples: Spinal Cord Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Autism, Cancer, Leukemia, Sight/Hearing Impaired, and others.To register go to www.challengeair.org or Paul Gray at pgray@riseadventures.org.

Challenge Air Update

What a challenge Challenge Air was. RISE had on display Quad Rugby chairs, hand cycles, golf and sled hockey sleds. After the kids discovered they could try them out it was a nonstop day! Golf was an extreme favorite for kids and grownups alike. The kids created their own course through the airplane hangar for the hand cycles. They raced away for hours! The Quad Rugby chairs were a hit , or bang I should say as many folks gave it a whirl. It was all we could do to keep track of everyone, and thanks to Randy Smith with C&R Medical and Darrell with LIFT-AIDS for helping out as well.

: Yesterday was truly a lifetime experience for my son as well as our family. I was always afraid for my son to do certain activities especially dealing with water when either of us swim. He loved everything especially the jet ski. Thank you for showing us that there are no limits. we are looking to become a part of a team such as yours. I thank God for wonderful people as yourself.You all are truly a blessing to our family. I will see you in the near future to see whatever else my son can do.
: My son really enjoyed getting to play a couple of holes of golf today at North Texas Golf Center. It was great to see him not only enjoying swinging the golf club (and making contact with the ball!)but also being able to chat with his RISE friends.
: I really had a great time at the water sports at Lake Grapevine, especially riding in the motorboat and getting to help steer the sailboat. But I think my favorite activity was riding on the jet ski, which really surprised my mom who never thought I would ever get on a jet ski!!!
: This was truly the best day of my sons life where it was just enjoying the outdoors. WE experienced things we wanted to do & things we were afraid of & I truly appreciated it. THANKS
: I just wanted to Thank Rick and Annette Brauer for such a wonderful time last Saturday sailing in the open waters. I had such a "GREAT TIME" can't wait till the next time we get to go out. Thank You again!!!!!!
